As you can clearly see in the benchmarks, the Radeon 4850 GPU proves to be an excellent contender of performance at its current pricerange for folks running resolutions up to 1920x1200 - if resolutions above that are used than you may want to opt for a more powerful graphics card or run a pair of these in crossfire.

Performance between the two cards is nearly identical which means that the decision of which one to buy will primarily land on availability and pricing of what you can find. Both cards would serve you well and easily eclipse anything NVIDIA can offer in this price range.

I'm really impressed with ATI's efforts in this GPU and how well they've executed on getting out to such a diverse group of add-in-board partners - kudos to Palit and Gigabyte for helping fuel the mainstream gamers' desire for world-class 3D perfornance for under $200.
