Power use:
An area that these cards clearly excel at is the area of power use and heat – at no time in my period of testing them did the cooling fans ever get past a “barely there” audible range. There was never tons of heat blowing out the back as we’ve seen on other cards and the overall power-use is very remarkable.
Price and Availability:
Cards should be available right now on the web and in-stores starting tomorrow around North America. I don’t know of any product availability issues with ATI’s graphic cards in the past couple of years, so I’m not at all worried about their ability to deliver and keep up with demand.
Conclusion:
Short of any performance issues one may encounter when running a more “mainstream” card like the 5750 or the 5700 in Eyefinity mode, I don’t have any concerns with their performance and am overall very pleased with the efforts AMD has done in producing them.
Undoubtedly, NVIDIA will have to lower its prices in an effort to curb any backlash of its products in the channel, however, they still will get beat in benchmarks, power use and possibly beat-up on in the minds of consumers with their lack of DX11 support at the time of the Windows7 launch.
