With AMD’s Barcelona still missing in action, Intel is keeping the pressure on by releasing incremental upgrades to its existing Core 2 Duo platform – this time a 1333MHz (4x333) front side bus speed. This slight improvement is aimed at helping performance out under a variety of scenarios and staying on top of the technology curve for Intel’s Penryn CPUs which should debut late in this year.

 

This performance preview of the E6750 is just that – a preview, as the CPUs which actually run on this bus speed aren’t due out until later this summer. We’re told Intel will be launching an entire updated family of Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs which all ride the 1333MHz bus.
