I recall a time, not long ago, when most folks thought they could never anywhere close to this capacity; however, with the rise in demand of applications and multimedia files, the consumer desire for larger hard drives is reaching an all-time high. 

Hitachi’s battle with its competitors for storage supremacy has come to fruition in the form of its latest Deskstar-branded hard drive that holds one-terabyte of data. At CES 2007 back in January, Hitachi made its announcement of a one terabyte drive that would start shipping in the spring and has delivered on that promise.
