Plextor Corporation’s history is steeped deep in the multimedia side of the PC experience and with that it – earlier this year – released the HDTV500U. It’s an easy-to-use USB dongle-type device that picks up High-Definition Television signals out of the air. Its design, while simplistic, is good enough to get the job done and keep the weight down as well.

This tuner is really split up into 3 different parts; the USB dongle, antenna and a wireless remote control. Because of the simplicity of the parts involved, setting up and installing requires nothing more than launching the software/driver from the included CD, 1 reboot then plug it in.
