In what seems like an almost over-crowded, wanna-be market of PC optical drives there is one company whose name is enough to make any PC hardware enthusiast and system builder stop in their tracks to notice and that is ASUS. Its name embarks an almost reverent fervor amongst PC fans. The reason is simple; they usually provide best-of-class hardware and have legendary reliability.


One of its latest products is the new DRW-2014 DVD burner which blazes along at a 20x speed rating for single-layer media, supports every popular format under the sun for all of one’s burning needs. The retail offering comes in either a white or black face plate on it and includes a full version of Nero 7. Additionally, ASUS has built in Lightscribe technology which lets users “burn” labels onto compatible media.
